1. Definitions

In these Terms & Conditions:

  • "We," "us," "our" refers to Hi Internet Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Clean Code Sites.
  • "You," "your," "client" refers to the individual or organisation purchasing services through cleancodesites.com.
  • "Services" refers to the custom website development, hosting, amends, SEO and any other services described on our website or agreed in writing.
  • "Deliverables" refers to the website code, assets and documentation provided to you upon completion of a project.
  • "Brief" refers to the completed project brief form submitted via our website.

2. Scope of Services

Clean Code Sites provides custom-coded website development. Every website is hand-coded from scratch based on your brief. We do not use templates, website builders, or content management systems unless explicitly agreed.

We offer four service tiers:

Tier Price Includes
Launch £795 One-page custom-coded website, Core Web Vitals guarantee, AI SEO optimisation, 1 round of revisions
Professional £1,995 Up to 5 pages, Core Web Vitals guarantee, AI SEO, structured data, 2 rounds of revisions
Accelerate £4,995+ Up to 10 pages, integrations, Core Web Vitals guarantee, full AI SEO, 3 rounds of revisions
Enterprise £9,995+ Bespoke multi-page builds, advanced integrations, Core Web Vitals guarantee, full AI SEO, dedicated project manager, unlimited revision rounds

The specific deliverables for each project are determined by your brief and the selected tier. Any work outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately before being undertaken.

3. 48-Hour Delivery Commitment

We commit to delivering the first complete version of your website within 48 hours. The 48-hour clock starts when both of the following conditions are met:

  1. Your completed brief has been received and accepted by our team.
  2. The required upfront payment for the selected tier has been confirmed via our payment processor (full payment for Launch and Professional; 50% for Accelerate; 40% for Enterprise).

The 48-hour period is measured in calendar hours from the moment both conditions are satisfied. If your brief is submitted outside business hours, acceptance will be confirmed on the next working day, at which point the clock begins.

The delivery commitment applies to the initial build based on your submitted brief. It does not include subsequent revision rounds, which are handled separately.

Exclusions

The 48-hour commitment may not apply in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Incomplete or ambiguous briefs that require clarification before work can begin.
  • Requests for third-party integrations that depend on external API access, credentials, or account setup not yet provided.
  • Force majeure events beyond our reasonable control.

In any such case, we will notify you promptly and provide a revised timeline.

4. Core Web Vitals Guarantee

Every website we deliver is guaranteed to achieve a score of 90 or above on all Core Web Vitals metrics as measured by Google PageSpeed Insights, tested on the delivered code under standard conditions.

What the guarantee covers

  • Performance: 90+ score on both mobile and desktop.
  • Accessibility: 90+ score.
  • Best Practices: 90+ score.
  • SEO: 90+ score.

Remedy

If the delivered website does not meet the 90+ threshold on any of the above metrics, we will fix the issue at no additional charge. You must notify us within 14 days of delivery, providing the PageSpeed Insights report URL as evidence.

If, after reasonable attempts, we are unable to resolve the issue to the standard guaranteed, you may be entitled to a proportionate refund.

Exclusions

The guarantee does not cover performance degradation caused by:

  • Third-party scripts, plugins, or tracking codes added after delivery.
  • Modifications to the delivered code made by you or a third party.
  • Hosting environments that do not meet reasonable performance standards (e.g., shared hosting with severely limited resources).
  • Content changes that introduce unoptimised images, videos, or other heavy assets.

5. Revisions

Each tier includes a set number of revision rounds after the initial delivery:

Tier Revision rounds included
Launch 1 round
Professional 2 rounds
Accelerate 3 rounds
Enterprise Unlimited rounds

A "revision round" is defined as a single set of written feedback or change requests submitted at one time. We will implement all reasonable changes within the scope of the original brief.

Revisions that fall outside the original scope (e.g., adding new pages, new features, or significant design changes not covered by the brief) will be quoted as additional work.

Additional revision rounds beyond your tier's allocation can be purchased at a rate agreed upon before work commences.

6. Payment Terms

All prices are listed in British pounds sterling (GBP). If we become VAT-registered in the future, VAT will be added to prices and you will be notified in advance.

One-off project payments

  • Launch (£795) and Professional (£1,995): Payment is required in full before work begins.
  • Accelerate (£4,995+): Payment is split 50/50 — 50% upfront before work begins, 50% on delivery of the completed website.
  • Enterprise (£9,995+): Payment is split 40/40/20 — 40% upfront before work begins, 40% on delivery of the first complete version, and 20% on final sign-off after revisions.
  • Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
  • We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe's payment platform.
  • A payment confirmation email will be sent upon successful processing.

Recurring payments

Add-on services with monthly pricing (such as hosting or amends retainers) are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel recurring services with 30 days' written notice.

Late or failed payments

If a recurring payment fails, we will notify you and allow 7 days for the payment to be resolved. If payment is not received within this period, the relevant service may be suspended until the outstanding balance is settled.

7. Code Ownership & Intellectual Property

Code ownership

Upon receipt of full payment, you own all delivered code. This includes the HTML, CSS, JavaScript and any other source files created specifically for your project. You are free to:

  • Host the code on any platform or server of your choice.
  • Modify, extend, or refactor the code as you see fit.
  • Engage any third-party developer to work on the code.

There is no lock-in, licensing fee, or ongoing obligation tied to the delivered code.

Our retained rights

We retain the right to:

  • Display the completed project in our portfolio and marketing materials, unless you request otherwise in writing.
  • Reuse general development techniques, methods and non-client-specific code patterns in future projects.

Your responsibilities

You warrant that any content, images, logos, or other materials you provide for inclusion in the website are either owned by you or properly licensed and that their use does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights. You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from materials you have supplied.

We offer the following optional add-on services:

8a. Free Hosting

Where we provide free hosting as part of your website delivery, the following terms apply:

  • Free hosting is provided via a third-party platform (currently Netlify) at our discretion.
  • Free hosting is subject to fair use, defined as up to 100GB of bandwidth per month.
  • No uptime or availability guarantee is provided for free-tier hosting.
  • We reserve the right to change hosting providers or terms with 30 days' written notice to affected clients.
  • For clients requiring guaranteed uptime, our Managed Hosting add-on (£49/month) is available.
  • We are not liable for any losses caused by hosting downtime on the free tier.

8b. Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or changes to any third-party service integrated into your website, including but not limited to payment processors, booking systems, and hosting platforms. Where we integrate third-party services on your behalf, we will use reasonable care in selecting reputable providers, but we cannot guarantee their continued operation or terms of service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or in connection with these terms or the services shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill.
  • We are not responsible for any losses arising from the use, inability to use, or performance of the delivered website, except where such losses result directly from our breach of these terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Cancellation & Refunds

Before work begins

If you wish to cancel after payment but before we have begun work on your project, you are entitled to a full refund. "Work begun" means we have started coding based on your brief.

After work has begun

Once work has begun, cancellations are handled as follows:

  • If we have delivered a partial build, we will provide the work completed to date. No refund will be issued for work already carried out.
  • If less than 50% of the project is complete at the time of cancellation, we may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund reflecting the work not yet undertaken.

After delivery

Once the completed website has been delivered to you, no refund is available, as the deliverables (source code) cannot be returned. Our Core Web Vitals guarantee (Section 4) remains in effect regardless.

Cooling-off period

If you are a consumer contracting at a distance, you may have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. However, by submitting your brief and requesting that work begins immediately, you acknowledge that you may lose this right once the service has been fully performed.

Recurring add-ons

Monthly add-on services may be cancelled at any time with 30 days' written notice. You will continue to receive the service until the end of the current billing period.

11. General Terms

Amendments

We reserve the right to update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of our services after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with any project-specific details confirmed in writing (including your brief and payment confirmation), constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the services.

No waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it at a later date.

Third parties

These terms do not confer any rights on any third party under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Statutory rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.

Force majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, or industrial disputes. In such cases, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event, and we will use reasonable efforts to mitigate the impact and resume performance as soon as practicable.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Alternative dispute resolution

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you may refer it to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. You can find more information at citizensadvice.org.uk.
